David Gygi

David is a California native having completed his undergraduate at the College of Chemistry at UC Berkeley. He then went East to complete his PhD with Prof. Daniel G. Nocera at Harvard. Following his Ph.D. studies, he went to work for Bristol Myers Squibb as a Process Chemist specializing in base metal catalysis and large scale enabling synthesis. Missing decent avocados and California burritos he is now back West in San Francisco working as a medicinal chemist for a Stealth Mode Biotech. He is passionate about chemical synthesis and is always up for a discussion on new chemistry or novel chemical modalities. As a part-time affiliate of the Nava lab, David will assist the lab with career and coursework advice.
